Accessing your results
We strongly advise you come into College to collect your results, as there will be support on hand to help you to understand them and navigate any decisions (e.g. related to UCAS) – this will include College staff, Careers Wales and some local universities.
- Collecting from College: Collect from College from 9:00am until 11:00am. If someone collects for you, they must bring a signed letter of permission from you.
- Online: Results will be emailed and on Student Advantage from 8:30am. Delivery may be delayed due to the large volume of results being distributed.
Querying your results
There will be a helpdesk in the sports hall on results day, or you can email examinations@stdavidscollege.ac.uk
Searching for Clearing Spaces
- Visit UCAS and search chosen course under Choose Your Future.
- Click Courses | See All
- Select I live in Wales (this is your current residence, not study location).
- Filter for Clearing.
- Call universities’ Clearing helplines (see their websites) and ask about accommodation available for Clearing applicants. You can ring as many as you wish but can only enter one choice after 1:00pm on the UCAS website.
- UCAS Clearing updates constantly – check regularly!
GCSE Results
If your chosen course has a GCSE entry criteria, send proof of results to your chosen universities (they do not receive these automatically). You can forward the results email or send a photo of your results slip (collectable from College). Certificates will not be available until towards the end of the calendar year.
If you achieve higher grades than expected
To apply to a more competitive university, use Clearing. Contact universities first before withdrawing your Firm Choice – once withdrawn, it cannot be reinstated.
If you miss your offer
Your chosen university may still accept you; this could either be for your chosen course or a similar but alternative course (e.g. Biomedical Science changed to Biology).
If you are not accepted by your Firm Choice but meet your Insurance Choice offer, you will be accepted automatically— check and update Student Finance if needed.
If not, explore Clearing and check UCAS Track regularly.
Returning to College for an additional year of study
Email admissions@stdavidscollege.ac.uk if you wish to return for another year but haven’t yet applied to do so or have been told to reapply on Results Day.
Leavers Celebration
The College Leavers Celebration will take place on Thursday 4th September at 7pm at St David’s Cathedral. Refreshments will follow in the Cornerstone opposite the Cathedral.
