Throughout your life you will face a number of challenges. You will need to develop the social and emotional skills to face these challenges. The Pastoral Reflection Programme will not only teach you about some of the issues you will face, but also give you the opportunity to develop the skills needed to face new and unforeseen challenges later in life.
The Pastoral Programme focuses on five skills:
Self-management – Manging emotions and behaviours to achieve one’s goals.
Self-awareness – Recognising one’s emotions and values, as well as one’s strengths and challenges.
Social-awareness – Showing understanding and empathy for others.
Relationship skills – Forming positive relationships, working in teams, dealing effectively with conflict.
Responsible decision-making – Making ethical, constructive choices about personal and social behaviour.
Pastoral Reflection lessons take place once a week with a Pastoral Tutor who will also provide you with mentoring, coaching and support during year time at St David’s.
