Extra-Curricular Activities

Extra-curricular activities broaden your range of skills and qualifications, and give you the opportunity to meet and socialise with other students. Currently, the College offers:

Music

There are plenty of opportunities for students to participate in vocal and instrumental ensembles throughout the year. The College choir performs at various events including Advent celebration, the senior citizens’ Christmas party, the College musical and various other musical evenings.

Drama

The drama department welcomes students who would like to become performers or members of the backstage crew. Previous experience is not always necessary, but enthusiasm and commitment always are.

For more information about drama clubs, please see Mr Crowley, or email kcrowley@stdavidscollege.ac.uk.

Sport

Students are encouraged to enjoy the sports offered at St David’s College. The key sports are netball, hockey, rugby, volleyball and basketball. College teams participate regularly in both friendly and league matches and competitions. The College also supports students who participate in non-team sports.

The sports teams competing this year are:

  • Netball - Monday lunchtimes 1:30-2:15 in the sports hall. Wear your own sports kit and trainers
  • Girls hockey and football - Wednesday from 1:30 with training and fixtures taking place every afternoon
  • Gym membership and inductions are available from sports staff and must be booked in advance
  • Boys football - Tuesdays at 4:30 and fixtures on Wednesday afternoons
  • Boys rugby - training and fixtures every Wednesday afternoon. Training at various lunchtimes throughout the week
  • Basketball club - Thursday lunchtime
