The first of this year’s St David’s College Open Evenings drew a record-breaking crowd, with over 1,600 prospective students and their families attending, to explore what the college has to offer.

The event’s high turnout reflects a growing interest in St David’s as a top choice for learners considering their next steps in education. Attendees had the opportunity to tour facilities, meet with teachers and get a feel for the welcoming and supportive environment that St David’s is known for.

A big highlight of the evening was the enthusiastic participation of over 150 current student volunteers who represented the college; offering mini tours, sharing their experiences, offering specific subject insights, and answering questions. Their involvement showcased the strong community spirit at St David’s and provided visitors with an authentic view of what student life is like at the college.

The impressive attendance is a testament to the college’s reputation for academic excellence, a diverse community, and quality support services designed to help students achieve their personal and educational goals. With a wide range of A-level courses, vocational programs, and extracurricular activities, St David’s has become a key stepping stone for students aiming for university, apprenticeships, and various career paths.

Principal Geraint Williams noted the significance of such a large turnout, saying, “We’re thrilled to see so many young learners considering St David’s College for their future. It’s a privilege to play a part in their educational journey, and we are committed to helping each student reach their full potential.”
