It has been another incredible month for our sports teams at St David’s College, with plenty of impressive performances across the board.
In fact, as they did in September, the football, rugby, and basketball sides went unbeaten throughout the month.

The Rugby team played just once this month, but it proved to be a hugely important fixture.
The Saints took on Bryn Celynnog at St Peter’s, coming away with an impressive 34-7 victory.

It was an excellent all-round team performance, with Sam Rees scoring two tries and Nathan Amaechi earning Man of the Match honours.
The result puts the boys at the top of the East Wales Championship, a position they will be looking to defend after half-term.
It has been a busy month for our Basketball teams, with both the boys’ first and second teams enjoying success on the court.

The first team continued their impressive winning run with three victories on the road.
The month began with a trip to Cornwall to face Truro, where the Saints came away with a thrilling 78-70 win.

Next up were Exeter College’s first and second teams, with the boys producing two more excellent performances to secure victories of 63-57 and 78-37, respectively.
The second team also enjoyed an impressive result this month, beating Cardiff and Vale College 65-52 away from home.
Our Football first team played two competitive fixtures this month, one in the league and one in the cup, and came away with two convincing wins.

First up, the boys hosted Pembrokeshire College and produced what was arguably their best performance of the season so far.
The Saints raced into a 5-0 half-time lead and, despite the visitors pulling two goals back after the break, went on to secure an emphatic 9-2 victory.

The cup tie against NPTC Group Newtown may not have produced quite as many goals, but the boys were just as impressive, putting in another strong performance to win 3-0.
We are only two months into the academic year, but our sports teams have already shown just how talented they are.
With the football, rugby and basketball sides all maintaining their unbeaten records, it has been a fantastic start to the season for the college.

Can we keep the run going after half-term? We look forward to finding out!
