Thank you to all of the students who participated and donated towards the Maggie’s Cancer Charity Campaign this year; Which helped us to collect a whopping total of £1,427.06.
The charity was selected as this year’s College charity, in particular through the efforts of Mrs Fisher who led the fundraising efforts, with the help of student and staff volunteers.
Perhaps the most courage was shown during Brave the Shave! Our students are certainly willing to make sacrifices in the name of charity and lined up to shave their heads for donations. It was an incredible and selfless thing to do! Well done to all of the students that participated.
Maggie’s Fundraising Week was a great chance for students to get involved with lots activities like the henna tattoos provided by Shazia Rahman, caricatures drawn by Mr Bushell, buy raffle tickets and a cake sale provided by the Catholic and Friends Society. Students were spoilt for choice as these events rolled over the course of 5 days.
56 students took part in the Football Tournament organised by Mr Amos, who were split into 8 teams for an intense competitive game over two days. Congratulations to the winning team Harry, Joshua, Finlay, Hari, Jack, Joe and Noah.
“Thanks to everyone for your support with Maggie’s Cancer Charity!” – Mrs Fisher
This large community effort, from students and staff alike, will be used towards the care and support of cancer patients around the UK.
