Congratulations to Reuben, the 2023 College Chess Champion!
Five matches, each spaced out over five weeks, resulted in a series of intense and challenging chess battles, showcasing an excellent display of skill and strategy from all 32 participating players. Each match featured intense 10-minute rapid games, requiring players to think and react quicker to their opponent’s moves with smart counter-attacks.
A special mention is due to Sam, whose efforts and dedication were instrumental in organising all the matches and digital displays throughout the tournament. Sam was able to successfully live-stream all the matches throughout the tournament, allowing everyone to watch the action unfold in real time. The digital display was hosted on the highly competitive online chess tournament website, Chess.com.
Congratulations to both Josh and Reuben for reaching the final round of the tournament. Their smart moves and quick, clever thinking were very impressive. However, in the end, there can only be one winner to claim the title of champion.
