Congratulations to semi-finalists, St David’s Crystal Crusaders, a formidable team of five who have left a significant impact within the Esports British Student Championships. Having battled their way through more than thirty other competing colleges within the League of Legends Spring Open, they were eager to prove themselves.
The Crystal Crusaders had become a force to be reckoned with, consistently ranking among the top contenders in their divisions alongside challenging opponents like Exeter College (Eclipse.exe). Persevering with skill, strategy and teamwork, are the qualities that would help to set them apart in this fiercely competitive (MOBA) arena.
Opportunities to climb to the top of their ranks were only made possible through a combination of individual talents, collective team play and determination from the five Crusaders. With each victory, their reputation within the championship gained admiration and respect from both peers and rivals alike.
However, every journey has its obstacles, and for the Crystal Crusaders, Exeter College posed a real challenge. Despite their incredible efforts and long dedicated 3 hours of battling, the Crusaders were ultimately defeated in a hard-fought match. Although this was an unfortunate loss for the Crusaders, they are eager to return next season with the lessons they’ve learned and refine their strategies and gameplay.
League of Legends is a test of wits, strategy, teamwork, resource and infantry management or orchestrating intricate manoeuvres around your opponents. Their journey demonstrates the hard work and determination they have displayed throughout this tournament, and the improvements they have made as a team.
As the dust settles on another season of student esports, the Crystal Crusaders are eager to start training and return for their next season for even better results. Congratulations Crusaders on getting so far within the tournament and inspiring other students to get involved.
