Our commitment to Cardiff and Vale UHB.
During the first week of term, staff at St David’s College were able to deliver a total of 75 toiletry bags to the Patient Experience team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
The toiletries will be distributed to patients who may have been admitted unexpectedly, without having the time to pick up their toothbrush and deodorant, or people who don’t have anyone who is able to bring in the essentials for them during their stay in hospital.
This is the first occasion of what will now be an ongoing commitment for St David’s College – committing to making a donation every year.
This comes after a big community project during the lockdown period from COVID-19 of staff looking at ways in which they can give back to the community. As these traditions grow and strengthen, so will the impact on generations of young learners who will be active in future volunteering and charitable causes.
One user on Twitter, commented “From someone who was in need on such occasion [an unexpected admission] it was such a help especially having a toothbrush and toothpaste so thank you”.
