Good luck for GCSE Results Day!
Learners from Corpus Christi, Mary Immaculate, St Illtyd’s, St Richard Gwyn and Cardinal Newman High Schools will be able to enrol in to St David’s College in school on the morning of results day (21st September). St David’s staff members will be at each of these schools to enrol learners into College.
All applicants from other schools have been emailed a time for an enrolment session. If you have not been contacted, please email admissions@stdavidscollege.ac.uk.
What happens during an enrolment session?
Please allow up to one hour to complete your enrolment session, though times can vary depending on individual circumstances.
On arrival, we will ask for a copy of your results. You will then be asked to take a seat whilst we make any necessary photocopies and allocate you to a member of College staff who will enrol you.
The College staff member will be able to answer any questions you may have and provide advice and guidance on the most appropriate course choices, taking into consideration your GCSE (and any other) results, interests, and ambitions for the future.
During your enrolment session, you will make your final course choices. Please remember that there are general and subject-specific entry requirements you will need to meet.
What must I bring to my enrolment session?
Please ensure you have a copy of your GCSE (and any other) results to hand, preferably as a physical (paper) copy that we can keep.
Please also bring any GCSE results obtained in Year 10, which may not be included in your final GCSE results slip or certificates. We may not be able to enrol you without them.
What if I can't attend my session?
Please make every effort to attend your allocated enrolment session. However, if you are unable to do so, you have the following options:
- Send someone to enrol on your behalf (a trusted family member or friend) at your allocated time; they must have an email or letter providing them with permission, a copy of your GCSE (and any other) results for us to keep and a list of courses you wish to enrol on. We strongly advise that you make yourself available to speak on the phone to your nominated person in case there are any course choices which need to be discussed.
- Re-arrange your enrolment session to another time by emailing admissions@stdavidscollege.ac.uk. Please indicate your availability to attend St David’s on Friday 22nd August and before 12 noon on Tuesday 26th August in your email.
When do I start college?
Your induction session will either be a morning or afternoon session on either Wednesday 3rd, or Friday 5th September. You will be informed of your allocated induction session via email, and during your enrolment.
Lessons begin on Monday 8th September at 9:05am.
Where do I get transport information?
There will be transport information available to you at Induction Session. You can also find out more on the transport section of this website.
Learners from the Vale of Glamorgan will have coaches provided when term starts in September, provided by the Vale of Glamorgan Council. Please ensure you contact them to request a bus pass for the academic year as soon as possible to avoid the rush in early September.
Where do I get EMA information?
EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance) application packs and information will be available when you enrol and at your Induction Session.
Information about how to apply for financial assistance from the Financial Contingency Fund and Assembly Learning Grant will also be available.
