With a renewed sense of vision and purpose, St David’s Catholic College has officially launched its new Strategic Plan: Spirit and Truth, articulating a bold and faith-filled path for the College’s next chapter and for Catholic education in Wales.
The new strategic plan, grounded in the College’s Catholic mission, presents a clear framework for growth, formation, and service. It is built on four pillars: Christian Mission, Formation of All, Community and People, and Sustainable Stewardship. The plan’s core message is the College’s dedication to developing learners in faith, wisdom, and integrity, as well as its ongoing leadership in Catholic education in Wales.
The plan draws inspiration from the Gospel message of worshipping “in Spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-24), reflecting St David’s Catholic College’s mission to be a place where all are welcomed with compassion, nurtured with wisdom, and inspired to seek truth.
Developing Spirit and Truth was a collaborative effort that involved extensive consultation with staff, students, governors, and community partners. The plan draws on the insight, experience, and faith of the entire St David’s family.

The plan launches at an important moment for the College and for Wales. The nation is entering a new phase in tertiary education with the establishment of Medr, the Commission for Tertiary Education and Research. St David’s Catholic College is the only Catholic sixth form college in Wales and continues to play a vital role in this evolving landscape. It serves one of the most diverse and inclusive communities in the country. With its new Strategic Plan, Spirit and Truth, the College further strengthens its contribution to Catholic education in Wales.
Spirit and Truth will guide the College’s direction over the coming years, ensuring that faith, formation, and the common good remain at the heart of everything it does.
