Peer Mentoring Programme

Our Peer mentor programme has now started!

If you know of, or are a student who you think may benefit from our peer mentoring support service please contact Sam at the Learning Support Centre (email: smonks@stdavidscollege.ac.uk )

Our peer mentors are St David’s students who have been trained to listen, support and signpost students to other services within the college. This is a confidential service run and supervised by Angela McMillan the college counsellor and Samantha Monks from learner support.

Our peer mentors can offer:

  • A friendly space to talk about ANY of the issues you may be facing.
  • Someone to support you when talking to tutors or staff about any difficulties you may be experiencing.
  • Social support, which can include meeting for lunch or coffee.
  • Assistance when coping with stress, anxiety and mental health issues.
  • Support with autistic spectrum conditions.
  • Strategies to cope with SpLD’s.
  • Confidence building and encouragement.
  • Study support.
  • They can also signpost you to other useful services in college or to outside agencies that can help you further.

Our peer mentors are available every lunch time, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

They will be spending next week (from Monday 23rd November), promoting the service in and around the college. You will be able to identify them by the peer mentor logo badges.

If you have any questions please email Sam at: smonks@stdavidscollege.ac.uk or

Angela McMillan at counsellor@stdavidscollege.ac.uk

Thank you!
