In the midst of November, we began to notice a surge of culture day-related posts all over social media. As we glanced around the diverse community of St. David’s College, we realized that we, too, ought to celebrate our unique assortment of cultures. Thus, we took the initiative to organize a culture day event to highlight and showcase our college’s unparalleled diversity.
We collaborated with staff and discussed the most effective ways to make our culture day event a grand success. With guidance from staff, we formed a team of organizers and got to work!
Undeniably, the culture day event was a resounding success! We had over 30 nationalities’ food and drinks, an excellent opportunity to learn about other cultures, a photo booth, live music, and a parade involving nearly the entire college. It was a beautiful sight to behold as everyone was dressed in their cultural attire, proudly representing their heritage.
The event’s success wasn’t merely measured by the joy that it brought to the participants, though. More significantly, it represented the diversity of our college in a way that had not been done before. We hope this fantastic celebration becomes a tradition at our college that will continue to flourish for years to come.
