Commenting on her appointment, Mrs Akmal stated, “In a world that is becoming increasingly complex and challenging, the importance of fostering young people’s emotional and social well-being is only growing.
St David’s College’s pastoral and wellbeing teams add so much value, in nurturing learners’ growth and removing barriers, particularly during the formative years of being 16 to 19 years old.
I am looking forward to this academic year, in this new role, and leading in an environment where all students feel valued, understood, and cared for.”
Principal Geraint Williams expressed his confidence in Mrs Akmal’s leadership, saying, “I am really excited to have Mrs Akmal, in her new position within our institution. I know her commitment to the common good, our preferential option for the poor and developing our community as being one of faith, belonging and understanding, she will be an excellent addition to our senior leadership team”
St David’s College is excited to welcome Mrs Akmal into this senior position and looks forward to the continued positive influence she will have on the college community.
