Waves of Welsh music flooded the main hall of St David’s for Dydd Miwsig Cymru!
For the lead-up to Dydd Miwsig Cymru, students were getting involved in the event by listening to “The Story of Miwsig”, a podcast from Hugh Stevens and Sian Evans on BBC radio delving into the history of Welsh pop music and its changes.
When the time came for the event, waves of Welsh music, lights and themed decorations, flooded the main hall of St David’s, creating a high-energy and fun atmosphere with all sorts of genres of music for students and staff to explore the culture and language of Wales.
Welsh cakes, one of the most popular Welsh baked treats, were placed around the college’s main hall to help celebrate the occasion and were taken as quickly as they were displayed by both staff and students.
A silent disco was held within the college theatre with a live DJ, neon lights and lots of custom Welsh music and Welsh remixes. The headphones could be split between different music genres through adjustable channels, students were dancing to completely different songs from each other. This was a truly unique experience for most of our students, who are eager for Dydd Miwsig Cymru to return next year.
